Hannah Makholm

3D Animator
Objective
I am a 3D animator whose passion is to create meaningful animations for projects that are as passionate as I am! I possess a varied portfolio of 3D animation, concept art, and character design work. My intentions are to apply what I've learned during my animation project experiences and provide those skills to studios who share my love and passion for children's animation and media.

WHERE YOU MIGHT'VE SEEN MY WORK
Vending at Art Markets
Vancouver, B.C. 2023
While I was working with Wild Brain Studios in Vancouver, B.C., I would spend my weekends at local Art Markets! I made my art into prints, stickers, and sticker sheets. Getting connected to the Vancouver art community was an incredible experience that I miss dearly.
"Soul Shard" by 19 Souls on Board
Gameplay Animator 2021-2022
During the production of "Soul Shard", I utilized the team’s created character rigs to produce animations for three separate characters in Maya. The animations were implemented into the puzzle-adventure game using Unreal Engine 4.
"Intern Pursuit Game" by Intern Pursuit
Concept Artist Intern 2018-2020
During my time with Intern Pursuit, I created concept art on assignment twice a week for the company’s third-person tower defense game. My submissions were reviewed weekly over Skype with the art department and were sent to 3D modeling to be brought to life and implemented into the game’s environment.
"Go, Dog. Go!" Season 4 by Wild Brain Studios
Vancouver, B.C. 2023
I was a Shot Finalist for the fourth season of Netflix's "Go, Dog. Go!". Every shot assigned to me was carefully examined and fixed before continuing on to the lighting team. I fixed many different things like animation errors, fur crashes, recaching fur, reloading background assets, and more! Being a part of Wild Brain Studios taught me so much and I'm endlessly grateful for my time there.
PERSONAL ARTWORK
Here are two of my character-based illustrations, "A Cat-Tastrophe" and "Celestial"! "A Cat-Tastrophe" was a practice in characters interacting with their space. Not only is the story told through the character but in the details included in the background. This differs from "Celestial" which is solely based on the character depicted and the choices made in creating their outfit.
(Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, Approx. 2hrs each)
I am steadily creating Character sheets in order to concept out my cartoon ideas! Here is an example of Tami Starr! She is a part of an animated short film titled "Tami & Tommie"! Solidifying her character design was a big step in the creation process during pre-production. Her design needed to be clear and efficient to animate.
(Procreate, 2-3 hrs.)
For this assignment I created three creatures based off of a circle, a square, and a triangle. I feel that my strongest design is the magician-like bird followed by the lizard-like dragon.
(Procreate and Photoshop, 2 hrs)
I learned a lot about perspective and how to draw realistically in a Life Drawing class where my growth was kickstarted through creating these pieces.
(Charcoal on paper, Approx. 2 hrs. each)
